FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW - MESSY, MAGAZINE AND MOROTSKAKA
Trying to figure out what to wear today.
Everything is a mess at home and it seems I have somehow managed to magically hide away all my autumn clothes. The agony of living at two addresses.
But there has been times that it was not messy at home. Proof of that in the latest issue of Glorian Koti for example, where there is a short feature on the farm house. The pictures were taken a year ago.
Breakfast.
Includes this too.
Carrot-zuccini-date cake (=breakfast worthy.) Not sure if it's very good or just ok; the price you pay when you never measure and just randomly throw things in a pot and stir and bake. After a night in the fridge this could be quite chunky though.

KING OF HELSINKI
I took some behind-the-scenes photos during the day.
Walking among some 300 balloons. They started moving, wandering, by themselves at some point. Freaky (and also totally explainable).
It was a rather long but hilariously silly day.
You can see the result here - this will most likely open up more for those born in the 70's and 80's that attended school discos in their pre-teens. And have video footage on VHS of that...
(The disco-sign on the door was suitably there when we arrived already, as a remnance from the last party of the year.)

WORK AND PLAY
Lots of white and lots of sparkle. There's been a lot of beading and rhinestone applying, but with the headdress I have spared myself and had it made.
Dag was eager to try it out too. And the rest, and mimic what I do.
Because he had been such a patient boy watching cartoons during my practice, I then took him to the indoor fun park to play afterwards. Altough this is from ikea where I picked up some things (and had dinner. Quick and easy!).
Came home to watch me talk about - surprise- burlesque for a few minutes on TV (at Efter Nio).
Then worked on preparations for our upcoming event tomorrow - or today, actually, my days tend to linger way into the next one -Under the Mistle Tease; the Showgirl Edition. It's a Christmas party-club-show we organise for our students, to showcase what we have been doing with them this fall.
Our new and biggest coached troupe The Shangrilettes will perform their debut, for which the sneak peak above is. There are a few tickets left at the door so head over to Wäiski at 20hrs to have some fun!Monday, 25 August 2014
THE SEQUIN BOMB! / PALJETTIPOMMI GIVEAWAY

Tinker and I, as part of the Rubies, have our own recurring column there on wellness showgirl style and a Q&A section. As it is us, it is of course very tongue in cheek, as you may notice. Here we are demonstrating our so called pin-up abs.
You can read the digital version for free online at issuu.com/paljettipommi.
Among the ones commenting on this post I will draw one commenter who will receive a printed copy of the magazine! I will send the copy worldwide but note that the articles are in Finnish, so it will probably bring most joy to one that understands the language...

IN STRÖMSÖ
Our Strömsö-episode aired yesterday. We're always a bit cautious with burlesque shot in a studio as such a big part of the show is the live stage presence and interaction with the audience but I think it was rather alright anyways. Our number is in the end (shorter than the actual number of ours but with ht a little extra twist this time ;) and there is an interview in three parts with me during the actual television show.
Click the image to get to the site for viewing, but, it only works in Finland. Strömsö airs in Sweden and Norway too, although with a rather long delay.

STRÖMSÖ
A couple of days ago we flew a few hundred kilometres north to do some filming at Strömsö!
It's a lifestyle show that has aired for quite some time already and is sort of the real life equivalent to what people pin on Pinterest (because the closest I could get to translate the well used Finnish phrase "this didn't go quite like in Strömsö" is probably Pinterest fails :)
Vera fixing a seam on a costume.
Me and the host going all pose-y.
(I snagged the last photo from the show's FB page)
Airs October 6!

YOUR COVER BOY (AND -GIRL)
Dag and I are on the cover of family magazine KaksPlus (translated Two Plus). I was featured in an article on how to maintain one's style, or how style changes, with a baby.
The article itself is well written but I freaked out a little when I saw the headline on the cover labelled mommyfight and "High heel mothers vs. sweat pants mothers". Whoah! But it wasn't that bad. Just covers and selling headline, you know...

JUST A WHILE AGO, JUST A LITTLE TIME AWAY
There's so much snow and white everywhere. Everywhere. And at this point it always feels like it will never ever end.
But -no more than a mere three months and the apple trees will be in bloom again, with summer around the corner!
Here's Eddi and I biking round that familiar bend at the farm on a warm day last summer.

MIRRORS; LIGHTS; SHADOWS
Today -or, yesterday by now- Tinker Bell, Kitty and I shot some show stuff for an episode of a TV series, the same series I did some material for with Eddi last summer.
It airs on Teema on Mondays.

ONNEN MAA
Eddi and I filmed some nostalgia mood shots for the series on our farm late last summer. Most of you will not be able to see the series due to country restrictions but you can watch this video instead!

NOSTALGIA
Today Eddi and I posed and acted in some nostalgia mood shots filmed at our farm for a upcoming TV-production. Old Finnish cinema all the way!
The series will air next winter.
And, speaking of nostalgia, the Years Since Yesterday giveaway is over now.
Miss Fortuna decided on Julia for the winner of the giftcard to the Years Since Yesteday Etsy shop.
Congratulations & yey back to good ol' Sörkkä Julia!

HOME & KITCHEN (PLUS CATS)

Our flat is in the latest issue (no6-7) of Home & Kitchen-magazine (Koti&Keittiö).
The article was shot over a year ago, but not that much has changed at home after that - just some details and the mint green trolleys and so on.

My round belly encounters a pic of flat-belly me. I almost forgot I look like that in my normal state!
I also forgot this is what our flat looks like when it's tidy.
Ha. Ha.
Even though I take quite a lot of photos at home myself I always like seeing the pictures that a professional has taken; which angles they choose and what they choose to snap. The teams always move around some things a little, like change the angles of a chair or the location of a flower pot or so.
There aren't that many pictures in the feature online so here are some shots of the article instead:

I noticed floor plan showed is actually the one of the corner flat in out building; we don't have windows on three sides. And fortunately we don't have to go trough the bathroom to get to the kitchen, they're besides each other, not after one another, and we have a storage toom too. But otherwise it's just the same.

But yes, ehrm, you know what this made me think of (and feel obliged to do)? Clean!
Clean clean clean!
(btw here's a link to an article about my old flat, which was funny for me at least to look at. Same same but different, you know?)

SELF PORTRAIT
Very preggo dance teacher. At our own training studio Raspberry Fields Forever earlier today, before the bachelorette workshop I held. They are usually so much fun to do because all the girls (OK, women I guess) are always, or in most cases at least, so happy and enthusiastic about everything, it also puts me in a good mood!
Before the workshop I had a chat on the radio about burlesque, you can listen to it HERE (in Swedish. I'm on about 1:15-1:45).

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW : WORKING
This week has been full of stuff I work on and things I need to do. Plus my phone has been ringing constantly. Lots of people want lots of stuff. Phew.
Right now I'm multitasking with the following:

A big bunch of "training tassels" for a bachelorette workshop I'm hosting tomorow.
( -> Btw, before that I'll be at radio Yle Vega, sometimes after 11:am if you want to listen)

Drawing on a poster with summer dresses and dancing. I was stuck with this for three days and could not get one single line drawn.
Dreaming about turning this in to a dress, hopefully before May 1st. But I have my doubts. Schedually.
Most of all I should clean! And organize. I've been planning that for the two weeks Eddi has been gone. So far, not going so good.So here's a pic of a nice pair of shoes instead!

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW: BABY MAG, FLOWERS AND LOCKS

There's an interview with me and Eddi in the latest number of Vauva-lehti. That would be 'Baby mag'. (Which, although I am having a baby, won't become one of my daily reads. Too much baby stuff :) The article is about living in a family where the other partner has children from before, and now bringing a mutual child into it.

My youngest sister came over once again to have her hair and face done for a ball she's going to tonight.

And since I did not succeed in letting my pelargoniums rest properly over winter (they died. Or, I killed them or something. Should've just kept them as normal instead of drying them out, sniff. The only one that survived was the one I kept normally by the window...) I bought and planted new ones instead.

I don't actually have any fourth thing for you so here's another snap of the hair do and make up. It's like my Barbie make up only a little less; just a glittery eye liner above the black one. The hair on the crown is rolled into standing pin curls, pulled back in front by combs. The hair in the back is twisted like a french twist, but the ends are not tucked under the twist but rolled into more flat pin curls. She'll wear a long black gown with this.
Aaaand it just started snowing! How shitty is that?
