FOROGTTEN

Because the smartest thing to engage in in the middle of the night during a period when your to-do list is just too long, is to start "cleaning" and "organising" you computer (read: look at old photos and notes and links and perhaps, if you're lucky, manage to erase a few kb of data...)

I came upon a set of photos I took when I was at my grandmother's cabin in Souther Carelia with my sister many summers ago. A bike ride away, along a smal road, there is an abandoned farm. We used to  there every time we went out berry picking and walk around the beautiful yet spooky yard.

My sister still stops by there every summer on her raspberry-picking trips.
I have not been there since I took these photos.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

 No.

Noup.

No. (here with bonus speeding cat)

 Almost.

 And no.

 No way...

HAH!

Trying to get a photo of your toddler a) not moving and b) looking into the camera and c) catching an actual expression instead of those in-between chancing face ones that makes the child look drunk or full of rage (as well as trying to be in focus yourself) turns out to be harder than one'd think.

We went in to town today so I dressed Dag up in something that actually is a pyjamas but I think works pretty nicely as a light and comfy summer suit! That's one suave little toddler over there.

FROST AND LONG AFTERNOON SHADOWS

We had a few days of sudden frost.
The few leaves and sad flowers that are still around were covered in a crisp white layer, sparkling in the pale sun.

Narnia!

It always bugged me when the winter in Narnia ended.
But here the frost went away for now and we're back to normal autumn weather which is for the better I think. Come again in a month!

MODELLING

My very first "modelling job"!
I got this picture from my parents last autumn when I turned 30. I'm three and a half in it; posing with my mom and dad for a ship's ad brochure from 1985. My father is a naval architect and was planning the ship and they decided to get away easy and use him+family for the ad as well. Haha, he was my age then, or even a tiny little bit younger than I am now.

It's always funny remembering something of when your parents were younger than yourself. Or, thinking of. Couldn't really say I remember this occasion, even though I have some memories from being around two or three. Like sitting on the potty and mom telling me my grandparents would come pick me up for the circus in an hour and a half and I thought that an hour and a half would be such a long long long time. Or me just receiving a pear ice cream scoop with mom and grandmother in Tapiola when mom's water broke; she was pregnant with the older of my two younger sisters. And I have this feeling I had to leave the ice cream behind. Although I am not sure that was really the case. But I remember when we went to visit her at the hospital we had Pätkis chocolate bars with us (or was it Da Capos?), she was wearing a green dress and watching Dallas on TV.
